This project stems from my interest in the ways people communicate on a daily basis and the degree to which communication technology influences such interaction. A conversation saved in my MSN Messenger Conversation History functions as a script for dialogue in an audio recording. The time stamp that is registered with each message in an MSN Messenger conversation, indicating when the message is posted, is used to dictate the intervals of time between lines of spoken dialogue. This audio recording re-creates a conversation with speech that originally takes place in text with the use of instant messaging software on the Internet, exaggerating certain peculiarities that arise when chatting with text.
