and Design.
The gallery has been committed through the years to promoting
and nurturing deserving young talent as well as fostering
an interest amongst collectors to support emerging artist’s
work by collecting it during those important, formative years.
Celebrating Twenty! includes new works by
one of those first ECIAD students shown, Angela Grossmann,
and painter Jesse Garbe, who graduated from ECIAD this past
June 2004. . Also included is a stunning 1985 painting by
Graham Gillmore (Diana, 1985 -oil on canvas – 64 x 89)
that was exhibited in the landmark exhibition “Young
Romantics” at the Vancouver Art Gallery in 1985.

who were given their first exhibition or Vancouver exposure
with the Diane Farris include: David Bierk, Judith Currelly,

Raphanel, David Robinson, Chris Woods, Jeffrey Spalding and

The Diane Farris Gallery has always involved itself in the
charitable world by hosting fundraising events for W.I.S.H.Drop-in
Centre for Women, Vancouver Opera, Vancouver Symphony, Vancouver
Ballet Society, British Columbia Children's Hospital, various
Breast Cancer and AIDS Fundraising Events, LEAF, Save the
Children; C.A.R.E. Canada; New Music Society, Grey Owl Trust,
B.C. Brain Injury Agency, Tibet House and Amnesty International
to mention a few.
In 2003, Diane Farris was awarded the Queen's Golden Jubilee
Medal. Farris's Medal was awarded in recognition of her years
spent in volunteer service to the Vancouver community and
for the exposure, support and encouragement of artists at
the onset of their careers.
The Gallery’s award winning website is one of the largest
private gallery websites on the internet. All artist’s
information and exhibitions are fully represented for research
and general enjoyment. The gallery genuinely thanks those
collectors and supporters along with the general public who
have shown appreciation and interest in the gallery and its
artists these past twenty years.
